Chia-Wei Lin wins the 3rd edition of Berlin International Guitar Competition, this beeing the fourth international prize won by the Taiwanese guitarist this year.
The Berlin International Guitar Competition finished on October 17, having 20 contestants from 10 countries. The winners are:
First prize: Chia-Wei Lin (Taiwan)
Second prize: Bilodid Denys (Ukraine)
Third prize: Claire Sananikone (France)
The 22 years old guitarist, Chia-Wei Lin, was admitted to the Koblenz Conservatory last year and became a student of Hubert Kaeppel. This year he won other three important guitar competitions: in Veria, Greece in April; in Nürtingen, Germany in July; and in Vienna, Austria (Karl Scheit Competition) earlier this month. His 2010 record also includes the second prize in Iserlohn and third prize in Koblenz Competition.
The Jan Edmund Jurkowski Memorial Competition was held from October 9th to October 16th 2010 in Warsaw, Poland. The winner is Li Xingye from China.
Li Xingye won the first prize of the competition, 4.500 EUR, a Pavlos Gypas concert guitar, recording and edition of a CD and concerts in Poland and Czech Republic (Kutna Hora). The prizes are:
