Flavio SALA

Flavio SALA, born in 1983, is considered the new classical guitar star, acclaimed by critics and public for his extraordinary technique and his outstanding musical sensibility and creativity.

First Prize at the "XXVI Concorso Internazionale di Gargnano" (Italy, 2001), XXXVI Concorso Internazionale "Michele Pittaluga" (Alessandria - Italy, 2003), Audience Vote at the "San Francisco International Guitar Master" (USA, 2004), XIV Concurso Internacional "Alirio Diaz" (Carora - Lara State - Venezuela, 2006), winning here the "Fundacion Vicente Emilio Sojo" Special Prize to the Best Performance of Music from Venezuela.


Flavio Sala has been giving many concerts and tours in Italy, Austria, Spain, Russia, United States and South America, playing in prestigious concert halls and theatres (Tchaikovsky Concert Hall - Moscow, Leopold Auer Hall - Bloomington, Teatro Bonci - Cesena, Teatro Alirio Diaz - Carora, Palazzo Venezia - Rome, Hermitage Theatre - Saint Petersburg, Conservatory in Vienna, etc...), as soloist, in duo with flamenco guitarist Juan Lorenzo and with orchestra (Orchestra Filarmonica di Torino, Orchestra Milano Classica, Orchestra Sinfonica Friuli-Venezia-Giulia, State Hermitage Orchestra, New Russia Orchestra).

He is a member founder of the "Associazione Musicale Joaquín Rodrigo" and Artistic Director of the "Accademia Internazionale Mario Santoro", that organizes instrumental master classes in Bojano, inviting some of the most famous and renowned performers and teachers.


Gerhard REICHENBACH

Gerhard REICHENBACH

Born 1965, Gerhard Reichenbach is considered by experts and the international press as one of the leading European guitar virtuosos of his generation. His solo performances and appearances together with orchestras are highlights of classical guitar performance and his playing is compared with masters of the guitar like A. Segovia and John Williams.

He studied guitar at the Cologne Music Academy/department Wuppertal with Prof. Dieter Kreidler and at the Athens Conservatory with Kostas Kotsiolis. His debut performance was a solo recital in Düsseldorf at the age of 15, while he soon became internationally famous after winning the International Guitar Competition of San Juan/Puerto Rico.

Since then until now Gerhard has an important and very successful carrier, being invited for solo recitals to places like the Berliner Philharmonie, the Saal Bulgaria, Sofia, the Megaro Mousikis in Thessaloniki (Greece), the Philharmonics of Tallinn, Tartu and Pärnu (Estland), the Gavle Philharmonic (Sweden), the Forum Gitarre Vienna, and many more.

As teacher on university level he has long experience. Apart from giving master classes and lessons at the Berlin University of Music, the Enschede Hogeschool, the Music Academy Stuttgart and the Music Academy Hamburg, but also the University of Music in Linz (Austria), Gerhard Reichenbach taught from 1994 up to 2000 at the Guitar Department of the Music Academy "Franz Liszt" in Weimar.

Gabriel Bianco starts playing guitar with his father, at the age of 5. In 1997 he entered the CNR-CSP of Paris, under the direction of Ramon de Herrera. He went through it in 2005 with an unanimously first prize and congratulations. The same year, he received the highest rank in the entrance competition to the Superior National Conservatory in Paris (CNSMDP), where he studies with Olivier Chassain.

Gabriel has many various musical activities, like theater, creation of new contemporary works, but the main one is performing as a soloist. He performed his first concert in Paris at the age of 15, and now he is invited to play in different countries (France, Italy, Austria, Cechz Republic, Hungary, Poland, Spain). Gabriel has just recorded a DVD for the Italian magazine "La Guitarra" and his first CD will be released in 2008.

Gabriel has already won several prizes in internationals competitions in Europe among which: International Guitar Competition of Sernancelhe, Portugal – 2005, International Guitar Competition din Ile de Re, France – 2006, International Guitar Competition of Gitarre Forum Vienna, Austria – 2006, International Guitar Competition from Tychy (Slaska Jesien Gitarowa), Poland – 2006, International Guitar Competition "Hubert Kappel" from Koblenz , Germany - 2007.


Dávid Pavlovits

Dávid Pavlovits

The Hungarian guitarist Dávid Pavlovits is one of the most creative personalities of the new generation. He began to play the guitar at the age of 17. He played the guitar only three years when he has won a prize at an international guitar competition (Zory, Poland). The leading Polish daily newspaper described him as a personality "close to a genius".

He attended the guitar and composition class of the Franz Liszt Conservatory in Szeged where he studies with professor Ede Roth. He graduated at the Darmstadt Academy of Music in guitar with distinction, later he has also graduated the Gutenberg University in Mainz and the Musikhochschule in Munich. He took classes with the following masters: Tilman Hoppstock, Olaf Van Gonnissen, Walter Schumacher (guitar), Lajos Huszár, Heinz-Wieland Kurz (composition), Grigory Gruzman (piano).

Since 1993 he has been a laureate of several music competitions, such as in Zory, Poland (distinction), the 13th Esztergom International Guitar Competition (first prize), the Budapest Music Contest (second prize), International Guitar Competition of Crete, Greece (second prize) and the Viareggio Competition of Composers (distinction). He received the "Zoltán Kodály" Stipend for composers in 1999.

He has been teaching guitar, music theory and music history since 1996, recently he is teacher at the Faculty of Music of the University of Szeged. He has obtained Ph.D. title in 2006 at "Gh. Dima" Academy of Music (Romania). Since 1994 he has taken solo concert tours, radio and TV broadcasts in almost every countries of Europe, Latin America and the USA. He is also regularly invited to juries and master courses of international music competitions.


Gábor PODHORSZKY

Gábor PODHORSZKY

Gábor Podhorszky, the laureate of the fifth edition of Transilvana International Guitar Festival, started guitar studies at age of 14 and continued at the Conservatory in Pécs.

In 2004 he obtained the guitar teacher and chamber music performer degree of Szeged University's Faculty of Music where he studied with professors Andrea Bozóki, Pál Paulikovics and Dávid Pavlovits.

He participated a large number of national and international competitions and master classes given by Carlo Marchione, Tillmann Hoppstock, David Leisner, Péter Katona and others. He performed as a soloist in Hungary, Austria, Czech Republic, Poland, Bulgaria, Germany, Serbia and The Netherlands and premiered new works for the instrument as well.

He worked with conductors like Helmuth Osterreich (World Guitar Ensemble) and Taco Kooistra.

Recently, after he graduated the Royal Conservatory of The Hague in the class of Zoran Dukic, he lives in London where he is a teacher.
